Lesson 1 in BBQ:
Eastern North Carolina style is nothin but the meat, and maybe a
little vinegar to bring it all out. This here is from Skylight Inn in
Ayden, NC, considered by many to be the benchmark for this sauceless
wonder.

And we now face classic purple lightning and hail that we Northerners
thought only happens in July.

Between jury duty last week and strolling around Our Nation's Capitol
today, I've been feeling more red-white-and-blue than I have since
Inauguration Day. I think Tim was excited too, since it was his first
time here. Jason seemed hungry and hot (but was hoping for a Barry O
sighting as much as the next Midwesterner).

We start the second half of this spring jaunt with a drive down the
colonial coast. It's greener and warmer down here but we're bummin
that both Barry O and Hillary had to bail on coming out tonight in DC
because they were traveling...Still holding out for Michelle or even
the girls.
